For some time tumba25 has wanted to get out of hosting the site and phpBB in general. After some considerable thought I've agreed to take over hosting and operations of the site. tumba25 has transferred the domain, IRC channel ownership, Github Repository ownership and private website repo ownership to me. Currently Rich is still fixing bugs in the modders extensions on Github. I've completed the domain transfer process with our domain company and have transitioned the site to my own web hosting.
With the future in mind, I've decided it was best to to ditch the old website module system. This means all the other stuff you're used to seeing in the menu are currently gone as they were tied into the site using the old website module system. As of right now this site is running phpBB 3.1. As time allows I hope to replace a portion of the functionality through phpBB extensions.

Github announcement and Request for coders/stylersPosted: 07 Feb 2015, 18:05 by bonelifer
With the future in mind, we've split up our mods and extensions on Github into two separate organizations. This will help everyone find them easier, since they won't be lumped together in one group. Going forward mods will no longer have new functionality added, only security fixes will be made to them. These security fixes will only be made within the EOL(end-of-life) timeline of the phpBB 3.0.x line.
Extensions now reside in the "phpBBModders" organization:
https://github.com/phpbbmodders
phpBB 3.0 Modifications can be found at the new "phpbbmodders-30x-mods" organization:
https://github.com/phpbbmodders-30x-mods
Porting of 3.0.x mods to 3.1.x extensions is well underway, but going slower than we'd like. For awhile we've been thinking of adding new team members to help with moving to extensions. With so many potentially talented coders we thought it best to put this out in an announcement rather than trying to PM/email everyone. Having knowledge of any of the following: PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, and styling(UI) would help. We particularly need someone knowledgeable in graphics and styling(UI).
Steps to Apply for consideration
Please use the Contact page to apply. Then choose "Join the team" as the reason. Provide a brief description of your skill-set, and if possible examples of styles or mods/extensions you've worked on.

Change in Announcement forum permissionsPosted: 31 Dec 2014, 17:46 by bonelifer
As of now regular users can no longer reply directly to topics in the announcement forum. All announcements will have a link to a topic created for discussing the announcement in the General Discussion forum. This was done to facilitate users to be able to subscribe to the announcement forum and not receive emails about replies.
phpbbmodders.net + rmcgirr83.org = truePosted: 31 Dec 2014, 17:48 by tumba25
Hello Everyone,
As you can see by now phpBBModders and RMcGirr83.org have merged. We want to thank everyone who has used both sites over the years and have made each site great. We hope you continue to visit and make this website great going into the future.
If you had an account at both sites and the username/email matched then the accounts will have been automatically merged together. For these automerged accounts, your phpbbmodders.net password will be used. If either username/email was different between the two sites, then you can request to have the accounts manually merged, just tell us which accounts and what account you wish to keep. For those that had the same username at both boards, but different emails, the merged RMcGirr83 account will have a "_2" added to it. For those of you that only had an account at RMcGirr83.org then all you need to do is use those login credentials.
At phpbbModders we use the chat of the Geeks, IRC. Our IRC logger has been reinstated after an 18 month absence. It can be found at http://phpbbmodders.net/about/irclogs and currently only logs our #modders chat channel. We use the Freenode IRC network at irc.freenode.net.
You can visit via their webchat at http://webchat.freenode.net?channels=%23modders&uio=d4 and enter a username and answer the captcha. You can also connect using a dedicated IRC client:
Quassel IRC http://quassel-irc.org/ -- Windows/Linux/OS X
HexChat https://hexchat.github.io/ -- Windows/Linux/OS X
KVIrc http://www.kvirc.net/ -- Windows/Linux/FreeBSD/OS X
Non-exhaustive list of IRC clients: http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Software/ ... /Chat/IRC/

We have moved.Posted: 22 Sep 2012, 20:24 by tumba25
This site has moved to a server in Sweden due to much downtime at the previous host.
You will see phpbbmodders.org in the address bar until the domain redirection has gone through at your ISP. When that is done you will see .net in the address bar again. Do not update any bookmarks, this domain is only temporary for at most 48 hours.
I have not changed cookie domain so you will see the anoying sid=xx in the address bar too for a while. And autologin will not work until your host has updated their data.
Sorry for the inconvience and hope the site will be more stable now.
